LEP Network

Once you have attended a workshop, you will be an important part of the LEP network. Leopold Education Project uses a three-step, grass roots approach. First, LEP staff or state coordinators conduct training workshops for persons interested in becoming LEP facilitators. Participants attending these workshops are instructed in the use of LEP curriculum materials and in how to bring the program to other educators through in-service workshops. Then, at educator in-service workshops, local educators learn how to use the LEP materials as an educational tool. Ultimately, the educators use LEP in their classroom or education center programs to foster among their students a positive, personal relationship with the land.

Facilitators and educators are kept in touch with LEP through Strides, our quarterly newsletter, which includes a mix of articles on Aldo Leopold, the land ethic, education, new ideas for teaching strategies, LEP workshop ideas, and more. In addition to posting here, Strides is available via e-mail on request (large pdf files) and is mailed to workshop participants. This web site also maintains the latest calendar of workshops, LEP news updates, announcements and information regarding our annual National Workshop.

If you are interested in the curriculum and want to be a part of the LEP network, contact the LEP national office to be put on our interest list. (An e-mail providing your mailing address is the most efficient way to be added to the LEP interest list.) Once on the interest list, you will be notified of any LEP workshops
in your area.
